Pipeline cut and recovery, Arabian Gulf

 

Scope of Work


Mobilising from our KSA base and delivered by our expert team, James Fisher Decommissioning (JF Decom) have successfully cut and recovered over 2000 metres of subsea pipeline from the Arabian Gulf.

Customer requirement included suitable equipment for the cut and recovery of:


• 36” OD Pipeline, 1” Wall thickness c/w 5” CWC
• 32” OD Pipeline, 0.875” Wall thickness c/w 3” CWC
• 24” Pipeline, 0.875” Wall thickness c/w 3” CWC
• 20” Pipeline, 0.75” Wall thickness c/w 2” CWC
• 10” Pipeline, 0.5” Wall thickness c/w 1”CWC
• 8” Pipeline, 0.875” Wall thickness c/w 0.5”CWC

 

Scope of Supply


• 2835Te Hydraulic Shear (1333/18)
• Hydraulic Power Pack
• Reeler c/w 150mtr twin line umbilical
• 2 x 20Te Grabs c/w spreader beam

 

Results and Benefits

JF Decom delivered full continuous operations between the hydraulic shear and the hydraulic 20Te twin grab set-up through utilisation of the same HPU and downline, saving on both valuable deck space and vessel time.
Following successful completion of the workscope, JF Decom has been awarded an additional scope by the customer for further decommissioning work in the Arabian Gulf.
