Undertaking preventative winch maintenance for Ensco

Scope of works:

Ensco approached James Fisher Offshore to carry out preventative maintenance on 14 utility winches and 4 man-riding winches on their E102 jack up.

Winch models ranged from Force 5 Infinity, Force 5 Third Generation to Liftstar portable utility winches and the Force 5 150kg dedicated man-rider.

Scope of supply:

Our mobile workshop container arrived at location fully stocked with all the necessary tools required to carry out servicing and repairs on the winches. Various spare part kits were supplied to enable work to be carried out on each model of Ingersoll Rand winch. All winches were then tested and re-certified after the service/repair work was completed.

Fisher Offshore provided two manufacturer-trained and certified pneumatic technicians to carry out the work offshore. A full engineers' report on each winch was submitted along with a complete list of spare parts used.

The maintenance on all 18 winches was completed within 10 days which was ahead of schedule and within budget.
