Repsol Scapa - Lay Spread Support Services 

James Fisher Offshore (JFO), in partnership with Aquatic Subsea supported our customer with subsea
and back deck equipment requirements on the BOKA Atlantis DSV for works on the Claymore Field.

The aim of the project was to safeguard field production from the current three operating wells, and in addition re-start production from another well. Full scope of work included the install of 80m wire to pull-out old flexi within the J-tube. This required subsea support utilising JFO’s BFG15 subsea winch and our hydraulic cutter for cut of the flexi as close to the seabed as possible. The topside package then assisted the installation of the replacement flexi, whilst the old flexi was then cut on deck into 6m lengths for onshore recycling.

Following the last minute call off for an air winch to support an earlier project, JFO were able to pull
forward the grillage, change out the wire rope and arrange for a technician to commission and function
test the equipment on the deck of the vessel.

Buzzard Field Development Phase II

The Buzzard platform is the largest UK North Sea oil discovery in the past two decades and Buzzard Phase II (BPII) is a subsea development of the Buzzard northern area. The objective of this project is to safely develop additional reserves and bring new production on stream, supporting the goal of maximizing economic recovery in the North Sea.

BPII is a bid to go after additional reserves to the north of the main field with a subsea development tied-back to it, with peak production of 37,000 boepd.

As part of this project, JFO supported umbilical pull-in utilising its 37Te hydraulic winch package and provided full technical support throughout, to overcome wire routing challenges on the platform.
