Gryphon Alpha FPSO winch and line monitoring package
Scope of works:
The Maersk Gryphon Area Recovery Project (GARP) was to reinstate the Gryphon Alpha floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) following a severe storm in Q1 2011, where the FPSO lost position and damaged numerous subsea risers, flowlines and structures. The FPSO was recovered back to dry dock in Rotterdam for repairs and was due back on site in March 2012. The scope of work included installation of the following infrastructure:
- 15 dynamic risers
- 2 dynamic umbilicals
- 2 static umbilicals
- 11 flexible flowlines
- 3 midwater arches
- 25 control jumpers
- 5 riser bases
- 2 SSIV
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning support
Scope of supply:
Fisher Offshore were contracted by Technip to supply a 37Te hydraulic winch package to assist with their scope of works and carry out numerous pull-ins as part of the offshore installation works.
Our project team were involved in the early stages of the project and the winch package was prepared and utilised for the SIT conducted in a third party facility in Denmark. The winch package was then held in storage at Fisher Offshore’s Oldmeldrum facility before being delivered to Rotterdam for installation on the FPSO.
Fisher Offshore supplied a line monitoring package with data logging facility to add value to the engineering package.
Once in field, Fisher Offshore’s equipment and personnel were key to the completion of this critical path scope.
